The 6 days trip takes you 2 of Uganda’s national park: Lake Mburo where you will do a game drive and boat cruise encountering Zebras, Elands, Giraffes and other wildlife. Then further south western Uganda to Uganda’s smallest national park. Despite its size Mgahinga gorilla national park has got many engaging activities. You will enjoy tracking the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. You also take a boat ride on one of the crater lakes- Lake Mutanda and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the land. You will also have a day to relax and enjoy the scenery of Lake Bunyonyi which is the second deepest lake in Africa with 29 islands.
After breakfast, Drive from Kampala with your guide to Lake Mburo national park. Uganda’s smallest savanna park and home the largest number of Zebras in Uganda. Your eyes will be fed with lots of sightings and birds along the way. You will have a stop at the Equator for the equator experiment and then continue to the park and check in at your lodge. After lunch, you will go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you will encounter different birds like the Giant and pied Kingfishers, African fish eagle and animals like Hippos and crocs. Later return to the lodge for overnight.

You will have breakfast and leave for an early game drive. There you will see numerous zebras, Impalas, Giraffes, elands, warthogs and antelopes living in their habitats. After breakfast, return to the lodge, check out and head for Mgahinga Gorilla National park. You will go through the flat lands of Ntungamo outstanding scenery in Kigezi region which is a combination of terraced hills, forests, banana plantations among others. Arrive at the park in the evening and check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Early in the morning after breakfast, your driver guide will transfer you to the briefing point where the golden monkey trekking starts. Just like the previous day, you receive a briefing from the ranger guide who will share information on what to expect while in the park searching for the golden monkeys. After the brief, you will then start your hike up in search of the golden monkeys, which are only in the Virunga Volcanoes. You will be joined by porters and rangers and in case you need help from a potter for your bag don’t hesitate. Golden monkeys are swift in their movements unlike the gorillas and you will follow them as they move to feed.
You are only allowed to spend 1 hour with the golden monkey monkeys before you start your descent back to the starting point and your lodge. After refreshing you visit the batwa and get to learn about their culture and how they used to live in the forest.

Wake up early in the morning have breakfast and prepare for your meeting with the endangered mountain gorillas in Mgahinga. The driver guide will transfer you to the briefing areas to meet the head ranger guide and later be divided into groups according to the gorilla group you will be tracking. Gorilla tracking takes anything between 2 hours to even a whole day depending on the location of the gorillas in the forest searching for the location of the gorillas with help of trackers. It is a worthwhile undertaking as you observe them closely while they go through their day playing, feeding, babies suckling. After return to the lodge and in the evening have a cruise on Lake Mutanda.

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale district and the lake is the deepest in Uganda and second deepest in Africa. Check in at your lodge and after do a boat cruise will take you to some of the 29 islands located on Lake Bunyonyi each with its different history. You may also choose to hike hills surrounding Lake Bunyonyi or do some birding.

Wake up have breakfast and transfer to Kampala. Lunch will be along the way at either Igongo Cultural Centre or at the Equator and later transfer you to the airport for your departure flight or to your hotel.
