4-Day Gorilla Trekking Chimpanzees & Queen Elizabeth N P

This day starts with your driver guide picking you up from Entebbe airport for your gorilla trekking tour in uganda and embarking on an exciting road drive to the extreme south western Uganda. A stopover for lunch will be made en route, arriving in the evening in the dense rain forest of Bwindi, famous for its gorilla population, is one of the most fertile and rich in the world, being home to a variety of primates, plants, and topical birds. On arrival, check in at the lodge for relaxation, Dinner and overnight stay at lodge amidst the forests and verdant hills of Bwindi as you wait for the next day’s adventure.

After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for briefing by park ranger guides, depart with picnic lunch boxes to start Gorilla trekking – the activity can last up to 4 hours trek or more to find the Mountain Gorillas as you hike up and down the slopes with dense mist covered vegetation. Hence you will have packed lunch for this activity. This active quest will eventually bring you to the face of one of the most sought after creatures-the mountain Gorillas. Upon reaching them, you will have a full hour with them while observing and learning their behavior as you take photos. You will later transfer the Ishasha sector in the Southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park, arriving in the evening. You may do an evening game drive in the Ishasha sector.

After having an early morning breakfast at the lodge, your driver will drive you to the Ishasha sector. You will embark on the game drive that will give you a chance to see tree climbing lions. You will be amazed to see them resting on the branches of fig trees while keeping a close eye on herds of Uganda Kobs, Topi and Warthogs as their favorite prey. You could have a chance to spot some tree climbing lions after proceed to your lodge for lunch or have it en route as you proceed to Kazinga channel.

In the afternoon you will take a Boat Cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel to see, at close range, the water animals to include Hippos, Buffalos, Crocodiles and elephants bathing on the channel banks. There is also a variety of bird species on the water banks especially the famous Shoebill, pelican and Jacana. You will later get back to the lodge for dinner and overnight there.

Have an early morning breakfast and head to Kalinzu Forest for Chimpanzee tracking to meet man’s closet cousins in the wild. You will be amazed to see these primates as they play, swing on tree branches, fight for food etc. Kalinzu central forest’s jungle life is a breathtaking one especially for botanists, bird lovers and primate lovers! On this expedition, a list of potential forest edge animals can be encountered such as Vervet Monkeys, black and white Colobus monkeys and butterflies. You will then return to the lodge for lunch and later embark on an exciting road trip to be dropped at Kampala/Entebbe airport, arriving late evening.
