The 10 days safari will give you an authentic experience with local people and wildlife. You will experience and learn about locals in their everyday errands and coat it up with mesmeric wildlife and scenic landscapes. You will visit two kingdoms, learn about their cultural practices and history, and engage with the locals (Batwa and Bakiga in Bwindi). Get the opportunities of enjoying the tribal delicacies, dance, and crafts. It will also include Gorilla, and Chimp trekking experiences, boat cruise on the Victoria Nile, walks and game drives that will bring you close to Rhinos, Lions, Hippos, Buffaloes, Elephants and several bird species

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival for your safari and Pick up

Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by our safari guide at Entebbe international airport and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2Transfer to Murchison falls NP via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Wake up early in the morning and start on our Journey to Murchison Falls national park. We shall have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will track Rhinos. The experience walking through the reserve will give you a glimpse of some of Africa’s wilderness. This will be after a short briefing from your ranger guide that you will start your trek to the Rhinos. Depending on location of Rhinos, you might need to drive a distance before exiting and starting the trek. You will then have lunch at Amuka Lodge or Guest house In the heart of the Rhino territory and then continue to your lodge for the night at Murchison falls National park.

Day 3Morning game drive and afternoon boat Cruise

After breakfast early in the morning, we will leave for a game drive in the northern banks of River Nile. Murchison falls is rewarding in terms of wildlife and mostly predators like Lions, Leopards, and other wildlife like Giraffes, Elephants, Jackson’s hartebeest, buffaloes, Kob, and an amazing array of bird species. After the drive return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon continue on the Victoria Nile with a boat safari for game viewing at up close and relaxed to the bottom of the falls. Enjoy the visuals of the thirst, aquatic and other resident wild animals like Hippos and crocodiles and several water birds like The fish eagle, King fishers, snake bird etc. You will get off the boat and hike up the top of the falls and your driver guide will pick you up and transfer you the lodge for overnight.

Day 4Transfer to Hoima and visit to Bunyoro Kingdom

After our breakfast, we depart for Hoima town. It is currently the headquarter for Bunyoro Kingdom. It is where the current palace of Bunyoro Kingdom where the Omukama is located. We arrive during time for lunch after which we shall explore the palace in case it is open for the public. Thereafter we shall visit the royal tombs and learn more about Bunyoro Kingdom. We will visit the market in the town center and later drive to the hotel and enjoy the cultural dances from a group the adjacent community.

Day 5 Transfer to Fort portal and Kibale Forest National park

Wake up early in the morning and after breakfast we shall transfer to Fort portal and visit Tooro Kingdom. This was originally part of Bunyoro Kingdom which was founded by a prince against the fathers wish. The drive from Hoima to Fort portal is about 6 hours depending on the state of the road and it is being improved. Arrive in Fort portal, have lunch and have a short tour to Tooro King’s Palace, Amabeere Ganyina Mwiru and top of the world. Later in the evening, check in at your lodge.

Day 6Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

Today morning you be will be transferred to the visitors centre ready for the chimpanzee trekking. After briefing from the ranger guide, you start hike through the rain forest of Kibale which takes anything from 1 hour to 3 hours depending on the location of the chimpanzee community you will be tracking. Along the trails, you might have sightings of the red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white Columbus monkeys and several bird species in Kibale Forest.
After trekking Chimpanzees, we will have local lunch and after take a walk in the Bigodi Wetland.

Day 7Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

We awake to a relaxed morning, after breakfast we leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National park for gorilla tracking and cultural experience. Bwindi is home to about 300 wild mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Reach the park in the evening check in at your lodge.

Day 8Gorilla tracking and community tour

Today after breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing. Once on ground, you will be allocated a gorilla family and you start your trek with your ranger guide and porters. After briefing head to the jungle for the breathtaking meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi! Gorilla tracking takes anything between an hour to about 8 hours depending on where the gorillas nested/slept the previous night and their movements.

Day 9Batwa Cultural Trail and transfer to Mbarara at Igongo cultural centre.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the starting point for the Batwa cultural experience. The Batwa lived in the impenetrable forest and are believed to be among the oldest tribes in Uganda. They depended on the forest for their livelihoods, practicing hunting, fruit gathering and following bees for honey. The Batwa guides will take you through this cultural trail sharing their experience of how they lived in the forest. Learn about their interaction with wild animals, what their food was and how they lived generally. After return to lodge have lunch and check out.
You will drive to Mbarara for about a 4 hours by road and check in at Igongo Cultural centre. You will visit the Museum of South Western Uganda, which is a collection of Art crafts, Photos, Information Panels, Norms, Customs, Traditions and the history of the people of South Western Uganda. It also exhibits the culture of South Western Uganda and her neighboring kingdoms.

Day 10Do the Ankole Farm tour and drive back to Kampala

Wake Up early in the morning, do the Ankole Farm tour where you will see the Ankole Long horned cattle and ghee making process. After transfer to Kampala with a stop at the equator. Arrive in Kampala late afternoon, your guide will drop you at the airport for the exit flight or at the lodge or hotel for an overnight.
